Arete - excellence. That is the name the viera had taken for herself after making the long trip from Dalmasca to Sharlayan all those years ago, though she frequently slips and introduces herself by Fjola, and thus she answers to both. And indeed she navigates the social scene and the academic world with a certain ease. Never pressured, always seemingly calm and certain of herself. Graduating from the Solonon with frightening speed, she concentrated on criminal law with a minor on forensic aetherology, and soon earned her professorship through her breakthroughs on devising methods that allow for a more accurate reconstruction of events through stray memory aethers. And so she shifted to specializing in forensic aetherology after finding that it was a field she was more passionate about, and she now teaches various general aetherology courses at the studium as well as those more closely related to her own specialty, on top of accepting work on various challenging forensic cases all over Hydaelyn.Despite her hectic schedule that often involves travelling all over Hydaelyn, she always seems to be able to find time for entertainment and relaxation. In fact, she spends perhaps as much time on pleasure as she does working hard on her research. And so, she is equally likely to be seen furiously flipping through a stack of books at the Noumenon between bites of sage bread, as much as enjoying a lavish dinner at the Last Stand with another pretty girl.
